Italian Fisherman Captures 280 Pound Catfish

Italian fisherman Dino Ferrari reeled in a monster 280 pound catfish. The catfish was captured on Italy's Po River.

The catfish is a wels catfish. National Geographic has shared videos of people wresting these types of a catfish, a weird activity called noodling.

The Italian fisherman did not catch the wels catfish by noodling. He used a rod and reel. CNN reports that bigger wels catfish - near 300 pounds - have been caught before. It took Ferrari 40 minutes to bring the fish in. CNN says Ferrari released the fish back into the river.
