Hurricane Irma Smiles at Florida
Posted on September 10, 2017
Hurricane Irma appears to smile at Florida in this still image taken from the GOES-16 satellite. The satellite is part of the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite system operated by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).The image looks like a smiley emoticon. Irma may be making a smiley face but the situation is far from funny for Florida. The storm is expected to cause destruction across the state. The Florida Keys and the west side of Florida are expected to be hit the hardest as Hurricane Irma moves from south to north across or near the western side of the Florida Peninsula today. The National Hurricane Center provides the latest information and data on the hurricane.
