Funny or Die: Creationist Cosmos
Posted on April 17, 2014Funny or Die has a new spoof on the remake of Carl Sagan's classic show Cosmos which is airing now on Fox. The show stars astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson who has made it quite clear that creationism makes no sense from a scientific standpoint. This has some Fox viewers very angry.
Funny or Die posits that the show lost a lawsuit and is forced to give equal time to the creationists. Timothy Simmons, who plays Jonah on HBO's Veep hosts the new show called Creationist Cosmos. Simmons does not fly a ship of the imagination, instead he has a white church bus which he flies to the stars where he points out the face of an old white man with a beard, God. To every scientific question he answers that "God made that." Except for gay people, "God did not make them. They chose that." Bible and saying, “What do we know about black holes? What are they, really? They don’t exist. If it doesn’t say anything about it in this book [the Bible], then you don’t need to think about it.”
His explanation of black holes is succinct: they don't exist. As for dinosaur fossils, well, they were planted as a practical joke by Satan. Take a look:
