Chlorine Gas Leak at Fury Convention Sends 19 to Hospital

A fury convention was interrupted by a chlorine gas leak this weekend. The Midwest FurFest was being held at the Hyatt Hotel in Rosemont Illinois, which is located near the O'Hare airport. The leak sent 19 of the convention attendees to the hospital.

The Chicago Tribune reports that police are suggesting the gas leak may have been an intentional act. Thousands of people, many dressed in animal costumes, starting pouring out of the hotel after the gas leak was discovered.

Fortunately, it does not sound like any of the Furries were seriously hurt. Complaints included nausea and dizziness. Reports suggest the source of the leak was powdered chlorine located on a stairwell on the 19th floor of the hotel. People said the chlorine smell was strong and the hotel smelled like a swimming pool. They need to catch whoever is responsible as someone could have been seriously hurt or killed by the chlorine gas.
